Venezuelan artist Javie Téllez has a different idea of what constitutes interesting robot behavior. He's planning to lead a march of 500 battery operated robots through lower Manhattan in an event he calls This is Tomorrow. The foot high robots will be carrying placards created by mental health patients in collaboration with the artist. Perhaps the robots will march on over to Wall Street after the event, where over 30% of stock trades in 2006 were made by machine. 50% of stock trades in 2007 will be made by machines. At present human traders provide ground rules to trading AIs but the next generation of trading software is expected to be fully autonomous. Optimus Prime would be proud. With all the money you make from robot stock trading, you can invest in some electronic robot sculpture.
