In February 2001, Partick Hsu was home on break from college and noticed the robot dog his father received a few weeks earlier in the mail. When Partick installed batteries, the bomb hidden inside blew up and killed him. This week, one of the alleged participants in a scheme targeting Hsu's family goes on trial in federal court in San Jose.
