CMU has announced (PDF format) the robots that will be inducted into the CMU Robot Hall of Fame for 2006. Inductees selected by the jury this year include Maria from Metropolis, Gort from The Day the Earth Stood Still, David from AI, AIBO the discontinued Sony robot dog, and the SCARA industrial robot arm. The formal ceremony will occur on June 21 at the RoboBusiness conference. If you didn't like all of this year's selections, feel free to nominate better robots for next year; for instance, Bender Bending Rodriguez.
