Robot Repairs in 4 Hours or Less!

Posted 24 Nov 2005 at 14:46 UTC by The Swirling Brain Share This

What do you get when the US Army has over 1500 robots deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan, and over 3000 expected to be going into service by the end of the year? You get an Army in-theater robot repair facility that guarantees four hour repairs! They've been averaging around 50 robot repairs a week and if they can't fix your combat robot in four hours or less, you get a new replacement! When the robot isn't fixable it's recycled. Usable parts are scavenged for use in other robot repairs.
