The long-awaited new version of the GNU GCC compiler is out. The GNU Compiler Collection (GCC) is a compiler and set of front-ends for C, C++, Objective C, Chill, Fortran, and Java. GCC 3.0 includes support for several new target processors including the Intel IA-64, Intel XScale, Motorola MCore 210 & 340, Motorola 68HC11 & 68HC12, Amtel AVR, Mitsubishi D30V, Matsushita AM33, Fujitsu FR30, and Sun picoJava.
