A team of students in the Mechatronics Program at Swinborne University of Technology in Victoria have designed and built a robotic weapon systems that can lock onto a target, track it, and fire a Kool Fruit of a pre-selected color at it. The device is known officially as the Semi-Automatic, Auto-Targeting, Kool Fruit sorting, Pneumatic Turret. They've also put up a website with photos of the finished robot weapon as well as their design process and full specifications of the system. For readers who aren't familiar with Australian sweets, Allen's Kool Fruits are a spherical fruit-flavored candy.
