Okay, technically, there are no robots involved, but it's still amusing. Software "poker robots" from around the world will compete in a 72 hour duel in Las Vegas called the World Series of Poker Robots. The event goes from July 12 through 20. The poker playing software agents will compete in a game of Texas Hold 'Em for a $100,000 grand prize. It takes roughly 6 weeks for the human equivalent competition to be completed but the computers are able to play much faster. For more details see the full press release.
