Posted 27 May 2005 at 18:27 UTC by steve Share This

A LinuxDevices article says a new version of the Gumstix microcontroller has been released with a price tag of $99. The new gs200f board includes an Intel XScale PXA255, 64 MB of SDRAM, 4 MB flash and an MMC slot. The board shares the tiny 20mm x 80mm size of the other, more powerful Gumstix boards. All Gumstix boards come ready to run with Linux and a complete GNU gcc tool chain. There are now a pretty wide selection of Gumstix expansion boards with all sorts of I/O and, coming soon, they will have a specialized expansion board for robotics called the Robostix.
