A Freshmeat.net announcement was posted recently for SRecord v1.21. SRecord sort of a Swiss Army Knife for manipulating microcontoller and EPROM data in virtually any file format. It allows the user to crop, fill, split, join, and otherwise alter files. Supported file formats include Motorola S-Record, Intel hex, Atmel AVR, Texktronix hex and binary, and dozens of others. Anyone working with microcontrollers has probably needed a tool like this at one time or another. SRecord is written in C++ and is Free Software licensed under the GNU GPL.
