CNN has a story (and Space.com has a story too) about NASA's new space probe Deep Impact which will collide with comet Tempel-1 in 2005. Part of the craft will detach just before impact and both parts will record the gory spectacle. Of course NASA will air the collision on TV and if you have a nice telescope, you'll even be able to watch it from Earth too!
