Posted 13 Oct 2004 at 19:36 UTC by steve Share This

Jianna Zhang of Western Washington University has started a new robot club, sponsored by the University and open to anyone who wants to attend meetings. The group, called The Bellingham Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Society (or BAIRS for short), meets on the second saturday of each month. The group has a special emphasis on trying to promote an interest in robotics among high school students and females. The University provided a grant of $31,000 to assist in their goals. For more on the group including an account of their first meeting, there's a Western Front Online story.
