The University of Arizona MAV (micro air vehicle) team beat out teams from France, German, Belgium, Norway and other coutries at the 4th European Micro-UAV Meeting in Toulouse France last month. The team's 6 inch wingspan radio-controlled surveillance plane was the smallest at the competition and easily won first place. Their larger 12 inch wingspan autonomous surveillance plane came close to winning as well but suffered a video camera failure. For more information on the team's winning robot plane, see the UA news article.
